8-inch Visio tablet now available for pre-order for $349.99

Rumors of a new 8-inch tablet from Visio has been doing round on the net for quite some now. We have seen it arriving at FCC in June, and then appearing on a WalMart roadmap for a possible June 26^th release. Well, the 26^th release date was not to be – but Netbooknew reports that the 8-inch VTAB1008, as it is called, is now up for pre-order on Amazon.com for a decent $349.99.

For $349, you get the 8-inch 1024 x 768 pixel worth of display screen, a 1GHz processor model unknown), 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and access to the Android Marketplace. Apparently there will be an “Elegant, easy-to-use VIZIO Internet Apps plus User Interface” as Amazon describes it. That’s not it – the VTAB1008 might sport enhanced audio planned through the SRS speakers, and the VIA Plus ecosystem will incorporate the VIA TV app for live streaming as well as provide support for a seamless integration with an upcoming Visio phone. At $349, this sure looks like a decent package.
