It was just yesterday that Acer held an event in New York City to unveil some of their latest products, yet one device managed to fall through the cracks. The 8" Iconia W3 was not brought up at yesterday's event, yet a leaked Amazon listing tells another story.
Based on the now-defunct webpage, the W3 looks to be packing an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail Processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device also features an 8.1", 1280 x 800 pixel display along with Windows 8 and a price tag of $379.99.
Although Acer failed to confirm the Iconia W3 at their event, this coincides with comments they made to CNET regarding future devices. According to Emmanuel Fromont, Acer's president of the Pan America region, the company has plans to launch Windows 8 devices with screen sizes less than 10" and price tags below $400. These new tablets are expected in the second half of this year, and although no futher details were provided, the Iconia W3 may be our first glimpse at them.
