If you are looking for a new monitor in 2024, there is a plethora of options. To save your time here is a list of five monitors that should be on your radar.

1) LG 32GS95UE-B

The LG 32GS95UE-B is a 4K 240Hz monitor with an OLED panel. The main standout feature over all other monitors is its dual refresh rate. If you were to drop the resolution from 4K to 1080p, you can now reach a refresh rate of 480Hz. Indeed, this is one of 2024's most versatile monitors.

2) Dell UltraSharp 40 IPS BLACK

The Dell UltraSharp 40 is a curved IPS monitor with an aspect ratio of 21:9 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It features Thunderbolt connectivity, a KVM switch and VESA DisplayHDR 600. Despite being an IPS monitor, it has a contrast ratio of 2000:1 which is double of what a typical IPS panel can churn out. With a good contrast ratio and a 21:9 aspect ratio, this makes it appealing for those who want to watch movies in its native aspect ratio. Before buying this monitor do check if the panel is labelled IPS Black or else you would be purchasing an older variant.

3) Acer Predator Z57

For those concerned with OLED burn in and are looking for an ultra-wide monitor Acer has got you covered with the Predator Z57. It features a 57-inch Mini-LED panel with a resolution of 7680x2160 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, it comes with a VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. With a whopping 2,304 dimming zones (2 to 4 times regular Mini-LED panels) that should help improve contrast vastly. For the increased number of dimming zones do expect a hefty price tag of $2,499.99 when it launches later in the year.
