The Samsung Galaxy Tab series currently covers a wide range of screen sizes from 7-inches all the way up to 10.1-inches. A new report from Yahoo! Korea, however, is claiming an even smaller Galaxy Tab model is in the works.
The new tablet, supposedly called the Galaxy Tab Q, would be just 5.3-inches in screen size. Considering that some of the larger screen smartphones currently available in the U.S. are 4.3-inches, the rumored Galaxy Tab Q would certainly blur the line between what can be considered a smartphone or a tablet. In fact, according to Tom’s Hardware, the tablet would even incorporate some phone capabilities as well.
As for the specs of the tablet, the source was unable to provide any hints as to what we can expect. The larger Galaxy Tabs, however, have all been running on ARM-based CPUs with Google Android, which can be safe bets for the Galaxy Tab Q.
The Korean source is predicting an official reveal of the 5.3-inch tablet this coming September in Berlin, Germany during the IFA consumer electronics trade fair.
