2025 Model Y ASMR tour demos all the Juniper lights and sounds down to trunk gate safety test

The 2025 Model Y refresh will be released in March, exactly five years after the original, but its preorders in the US are already open, and the Juniper reviews are pouring in.

The first batch of 2025 Model Y reviews dealt with the exterior design, ride, and interior looks, as well as running through the laundry list of new features and specs trivia that Tesla sent to reviewers.

Those ranged from 0.2" lower ground clearance and "51% less vibration on bumpy roads," to the fact that the glass roof now has new silver coating that offers seven times the heat refraction for better HVAC system efficiency. 

What are subsequent reviewers to do? Why, do an ASMR video of all the sights and sounds that those new 2025 Tesla Model Y features and cabin materials bring, of course. In addition, they turn to demonstrating the nitty-gritty details like what kind of Juniper light show has been programmed with the new light bar and colored ambient lighting.

Speaking of light bars, the Juniper ASMR video demonstrates why Tesla has equipped the 2025 Model Y with an interrupted one at the front. The reviewer demonstrates the satisfyingly clicky sound that the stalk that Tesla equipped the new Model Y with, and the turn signals themselves, make when activated. The turn signals are, in fact, an integral part of the light bar's sides that are separated from the central hood section of the bar, so that they can be made easier to tell apart from all those blaring LEDs.

The rear cross-car light bar, on the other hand, is a unique reflective piece that shines with light bouncing off the material below it for a softer, more diffused glow. In fact, a Tesla Model Y Juniper with Texas license plates has been caught driving in Saratoga without camo, and said light bar glow reflects not only from the car, but also from the road behind it, making for a rather futuristic scene.

The Model Y Juniper facelift ASMR video demonstrates all the sounds that the car makes, from the folding of the motorized seats and mirrors, through the thumping of the trunk lining, to the closing of the powered trunk. Speaking of which, the reviewer even put their own hand in the gap to demonstrate the safety bounce of the trunk gate when it detects an object left in its closing path.
