As a part of its summer sale, Fanatical is giving away 100,000 free Steam keys for Summer in Mara. This offer will let players keep the game forever once claimed. Normally priced at $16.70 on Steam, this single-player farming and exploration sim comes with laid-back island management, coupled with a light narrative and over 300 quests to complete.
Players play as Koa, a curious young adventurer tasked with looking after her own island in a tropical archipelago. Between tending crops, raising animals, and crafting tools, you can sail your boat to over 20 different islands, where you can meet more than 25 unique characters along the way. Some of them offer trade and friendship, others give you quests, and a few - like the corporate villains of Elit - add an element of conflict to Mara’s life.
Primary gameplay elements include farming, crafting, and exploration with a day-night cycle and light climate effects. You’ll plant trees for resources, build with different materials, and fish in ponds or the open sea. Your boat is also upgradable, which opens access to even more new areas and treasures.
Using Steam as a source of feedback, Summer in Mara has a "Mostly Positive" rating from nearly 1,400 reviews. Most players are fans of the cozy art style and relaxing pace. Repetitive quest design and a lack of deeper mechanics are commonly voiced gripes with the game, however. It looks to be a better fit for those after a slow, low-pressure experience rather than a challenge-heavy sim. Summer in Mara also comes with full controller support.
How to claim it:
- Sign up for Fanatical’s email newsletter.
- Link a valid Steam account (must have made at least one previous purchase on Steam).
- Add Summer in Mara to your cart and check out for free.
Do note: the offer is not available in all regions (including India), so please check eligibility before signing up.
