Lenovo launches Panther Lake-powered laptop with large 90Wh battery and OCuLink port

Lenovo has launched a performance-focused laptop in China, the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition. It's powered by the Intel Core Ultra X9 378H, a top-end processor from the Panther Lake series.

This Panther Lake processor brings the Intel Arc B390, a capable iGPU that can smoothly run a handful of modern games at 1080p resolution with the visual settings dialed down. Lenovo claims that the dual-fan cooling setup supports an 80W performance mode, but for better battery life and quieter operation, the TDP can be reduced to as low as 30W.

Speaking of which, the large 90Wh battery is another highlight of this Lenovo laptop, and Lenovo claims that it allows over 25 hours of runtime when handling office tasks. Thanks to the 140W fast charging support, it shouldn't take long to recharge the battery either.

On the front, Lenovo has equipped the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition with a 16-inch IPS display that features a resolution of 2,560x1600 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 500-nit peak brightness rating. The company claims that this panel has 100% sRGB coverage, and the anti-glare coating should lead to a comfortable viewing experience under different lighting conditions.

Among the other highlights is the OCuLink port, which brings proper eGPU support, and beyond that, the laptop has a pretty decent port configuration, including one USB4 port (Lenovo ThinkPad USB4 Dock 5000 curr. $154.99 on Amazon). A full-sized keyboard, a 1.75 kg build (about 3.86lbs), and a sleek overall design are the other notable aspects.

There's only one configuration of the laptop available, and it comes with 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and a 1TB SSD. It has a retail price of CNY 9,999, about $1,499. Lenovo might launch the Lecoo Pro 16 Core Edition in the global market under the IdeaPad line.
