$100,000 a month: Trump's company will charge Wall Street for faster access to his own posts

Trump Media & Technology Group has been in talks with traders and hedge funds about charging up to $100,000 a month for millisecond-faster access to posts on Truth Social. This according to sources cited (but not named) by the Financial Times. The product will be reportedly called Truth API, and is scheduled to go live on August 1, 2026.

The data feed is designed for algorithmic trading desks instead of individual users. It will stream posts from the ten highest-ranking Truth Social accounts in real time, and deliver them faster than a standard notification on the platform. TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn said in a statement that markets already move on Truth Social posts, and that the API intends to monetize that dynamic through a recurring, licensed revenue stream.

The logic behind this is quite straightforward, especially for the firms being targeted. High-frequency trading operations and systematic quant hedge funds execute positions in milliseconds. This means even a brief latency advantage on market-moving information can bring major gains. The president's Truth Social account has has 12.9 million followers, and it has repeatedly moved markets in the past — his posts on tariffs, the war, and specific stocks have led to sharp price swings across equities, commodities, and crypto markets.

Some other social platforms (including X and Reddit) also sell institutional data access through API products. TMTG said some firms have already been scraping Truth Social data in violation of its terms of service, and warned it will increase friction for unauthorized access ahead of the launch.
