ZTE announces new pricey mid-range device - V870
ZTE were hit with a $1.3Bn fine a while ago but you wouldn't know without being told, as their production efforts are even more determined now. The Chinese company is set to announce the launch of a new mid-range device, called the V870.
The device carries a 5.5" FHD display, metal body, 16MP rear camera, 8MP selfie shooter, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. It is powered by the Snapdragon 435, Qualcomm's low mid-range SoC from early 2016, and will feature 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a non-removable 3000mAh battery.
It's expected to retail with a price tag of around $400, which is rather pricey for a device running on a Snapdragon 435. There are better options in the market at that price point.
Meanwhile, ZTE also just released the Nubia Z17, the first device to feature Qualcomm's new Quick Charge 4+. It ships with up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage memory, and of course, the Snapdragon 835.
