Both the Xiaomi 15T series and the Xiaomi 17 lineup launched last week, albeit in different markets. Xiaomi has equipped its new phones with improved camera hardware, the details of which have now been outlined following their debuts.
As shared by Sudhanshu Ambhore, the vanilla Xiaomi 17 comes equipped with the 1/1.31-inch 50 MP Light Hunter 950 as its main camera. That sensor is joined by the 1/2.76-inch ISOCELL JN5 beneath a 2.6x zoom lens, and the 1/2.88 inch 50 MP OV50M as both the ultra-wide angle and selfie cameras.
The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max share identical camera hardware outside of their zoom lenses. Both devices sport 5x periscope lenses but the 17 Pro opts for a JN5, while the 17 Pro Max features the larger 1/1.95-inch ISOCELL GN8. They both use the 1/1.28-inch Light Hunter A950L as their main cameras, with the OV50M serving as the selfie and ultra-wide angle shooters, like with the standard Xiaomi 17.
The Xiaomi 15T phones are obviously less premium than the Xiaomi 17 series, and that shows in their camera hardware. The vanilla 15T features the 1/1.55-inch OVX8000 as its main snapper, while the 15T Pro sports the 1/1.31-inch OVX9100. The other sensors are the same across both phones: the 12 MP OV13B as the ultra-wide angle camera, the 32 MP S5KKDS as the selfie camera, and the ubiquitous JN5 beneath the zoom lenses. It must be noted, however, that the Xiaomi 15T Pro uses a 5x periscope lens, versus the 15T's 2x lens.
