Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now available on GOG. It comes with an introductory 10% discount to mark the platform's 17th anniversary.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is well on track to win the coveted Game of the Year award, thanks to the overwhelmingly positive reception it received at launch. It took turn-based mechanics from established franchises like Final Fantasy and added some Dark Souls-like parrying in the mix. While you can play it for free on Xbox Game Pass, those who don't want to bother with subscriptions can now do so.

The game has landed on GOG with a 10% discount, bringing its price down to $44.99 for the Standard Edition and $53.99 for the Deluxe Edition. The latter gets you some in-game cosmetics that do not affect progression in any way. Each copy is downloadable and DRM-free. Then again, an internet connection isn't really needed because Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is an entirely single-player game.

Even players unfamiliar with turn-based RPG games will enjoy Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. While it is somewhat beginner-friendly, you'll quickly need to memorise parry and dodge timings to get through the harder parts of the campaign. Initially, the world will feel restrictive, but it will open up a lot more once you unlock additional traversal methods.
