We've previously reported on glasses with integrated screens. These are not necessarily AR glasses, which are intended to augment reality with aids such as on-screen navigation instructions, but rather screens or televisions in the form of glasses. These are much easier to carry than a mobile screen or even a television.
A new device of this kind, the Vision Mini, is currently available for purchase on Kickstarter. Potential supporters should note that this comes with significant financial risk, including the eventuality that the product does not make it to market or it does not work as advertised. Furthermore, the company is completely unknown. Backers are required to spend at least $279, plus shipping costs. Delivery is scheduled for March 2026.
A high resolution is advertised, namely 3,840 x 1,080. Particularly important on such a device is the field of view, which is a measure of the achievable immersion: this is specified as 65° on the Vision Mini. A refresh rate of 60 Hz is advertised, with a maximum of 90 Hz. According to the manufacturer, people with (severe) myopia of up to -7 diopters can use the system without contact lenses.
Vision Mini reportedly connects directly via USB-C/DP or HDMI, mirroring whatever device is connected. Two dual stereo speakers are integreated directly into the temples, which supposedly provides immersive audio that does not disturb bystanders. Last but not least, the glasses are specified as weighing 98 grams. Further details about Vision Mini can be found on the product page.
