Toyota has applied for new trademarks in the European Union Intellectual Property Office, and the naming scheme indicates that the trademarks may be related to at least one upcoming electric Lexus three-row SUV. If the new electric three-row SUV follows in its ICE and PHEV counterparts' footsteps, we should be seeing a pretty boxy design with pseudo-station-wagon looks.

After sitting out the EV race for nearly a decade, Toyota finally seems ready to commit to bringing at least a few proper electric vehicles to the market. After launching the somewhat controversial bZ4X, Toyota and Lexus recently filed a trademark application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office for four vehicle nameplates, two of which indicate an upcoming three-row SUV from Toyota's luxury brand, Lexus (via InsideEVs).

The two vehicle nameplates of interest to EV enthusiasts are the TZ450e and TZ550e, which appear to be electric alternatives to the recently-launched Lexus TX. The TX is a petrol-powered three-row SUV that rides on the same GA-K bones as the Toyota Grand Highlander.

Lexus already has an electric SUV in the form of the RZ 450e crossover, which saw its debut in 2022, shortly after Toyota launched the bZ4X. The TZ family will fill a different niche to the RZ, though, providing an option to buyers looking for an electric vehicle capable of hauling seven people or a whole lot of luggage.
