Toyota has launched the new 2026 C-HR battery electric vehicle for the US. Not to be confused with the older ICE version of the C-HR, the company describes its new all-electric model as having a “coupe-like SUV profile”. It is an all-wheel drive EV and uses the brand’s e-TNGA platform.
The 2026 C-HR delivers a 338 hp output, with a 0 to 60 mph (~100 kph) acceleration time of around five seconds. The 74.7 kW lithium-ion battery offers an estimated range of 290 miles (~467 km), and the EV is fitted with a North American Charging System (NACS) port. As such, it supports DC fast charging, meaning you can use various Level 3 charging stations to boost the battery from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes. Plus, there are paddle shifters on the steering wheel to control the regenerative braking and further extend your range.
According to Toyota, the interior has a premium finish, and it is relatively easy to access the rear cargo area, with up to 25.4 ft³ (~0.72 m³) of space behind the rear seats. There is a 14-inch touchscreen with the Toyota Audio Multimedia system, a digital dashboard and dual wireless chargers.
The 2026 C-HR battery electric vehicle is expected to arrive at US Toyota dealerships in 2026. Unfortunately, the price of the EV has yet to be revealed, though rumors suggest it could start from around $35,000. Toyota is also planning to launch the C-HR+ electric C-SUV in Europe later in 2025.
