The Toshiba Satellite M50-A-110 is a mid-range to high-end machine. Luxurious materials encase the Toshiba Satellite M50-A-110. Brushed metal and sturdy construction pair with a good design to make one classy looking machine. The black island keys are spacious and comfortable for long hours of use, and the touchpad is responsive. Where it firmly ensconces itself in the mid-range is in some of its specs. With a glossy 1366x768 pixel, the 15.6 inch TN panel could be a letdown for some. As is typical with this particular type of screen, viewing angles are limited, but the image quality is decent for this resolution. Those who are used to Full HD machines will see a lack of detail, but otherwise, this is a decent enough screen. Weighing in at 2.2 kg, this machine just about rides a comfortable weight for portability, considering the power it is capable of.

Powered by the Intel Core i5 4200U Haswell-based ULV dual-core processor clocked in at 1.6 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 2.6 GHz, and the NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M there is enough power under the hood for most tasks. Even moderately demanding games could be played at medium to low settings. This should represent more than enough power for the typical user. Overall, this is a well built machine that will handle most moderately demanding tasks well.

As for the configuration, a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5-4200 dual-core Haswell processor that comes with an integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics card is selected. The system has 4GB of DDR3 RAM available, except one memory slot is free for subsequent upgrades and a standard 750 GB SATA hard. There is also a separate NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M Kepler graphics with 2GB of dedicated memory. For a good autonomy (about 5.5 hrs of average use), the Optimus technology that wisely uses resources of graphical subsystem is in charged, so the separate graphics is used only when necessary. Windows 8.1 operating system is coming pre-installed, so this model at this price is a great deal.
Positive: Excellent workmanship; very good performance; great autonomy; good price. Negative: Mediocre display; no optical drive.

The company's products and services include power, industrial and social infrastructure systems, elevators and escalators, electronic components, semiconductors, hard drives, printers, batteries, lighting, logistics and information technology. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M: Mid-range graphics card of the GeForce GT 700M series. Based on the Kepler architecture and manufactured by TSMC in a 28nm process.
