The Toshiba Satellite A665D-S6051 ($799.98 list), available at Staples, is a member of the company's new A660 line of 16-inch multimedia laptops. This retail model is based on AMD's new Vision platform and features a quad-core AMD Phenom II P920 processor. As our benchmark tests indicate, most users will be better served with a dual-core chip with a faster clock speed. Still, its application performance is still respectable, though gaming isn't much of an option because the A665D-S6051's uses integrated graphics. Too bad, too, because games would sound great on the laptop's small but mighty Harman Kardon speakers, which offer some of the best sound we've ever heard from an integrated set of laptop speakers. If movies and music are your thing and PC gaming is not, the Satellite A665D-S6051 makes for a great entertainment laptop.

The Toshiba Satellite A665D-S5175 is a competent entry-level media center laptop that has a smart list of specs and a few clever features, but it doesn't hold up when measured against other laptops in the category. For better performance and a slightly better feature set—offering features like WiMax and WiDi—the Editors' Choice Sony VAIO VPC-EB33FM/BJ is a smarter choice, for less money.

Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
ATI Radeon HD 4225: Onboard graphics card (in the RS880M chipset) that is able to decode HD videos (thanks to the UVD2). Technically a slower clocked HD 4250.
ATI Radeon HD 4200: Onboard graphics adapter (RS880M chipset) with UVD2 (PIP support) and DX 10.1 support (compared to the older HD 3200). Beware, possibly no 2D acelleration in Windows XP (as the HD3200).

AMD Phenom II X4:
P920: Slow clocked quad core CPU for mid size laptops (due to the 25 W TDP). Single threaded applications and games suffer from the low core speed.
P960: Slow clocked quad core CPU for mid size laptops (due to the 25 W TDP). Single threaded applications and games suffer from the low core speed.
15.6: 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.
16.0: 16 inch display-variants exist since 2008 and partially got the market share of 15 inch notebooks. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

2.6 kg:
This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
2.9 kg:
This weight is average for notebooks. Therefore the numerous mass of laptops with 15 inch display fits in this class of weight.
60%: Such a bad rating is rare. There exist hardly any notebooks, which are rated worse.
