While we all wait patiently for what we really want, Google's Material 3, the latest interim Pixel feature drop centres around AI, to the surprise of literally no one.
The first feature is Gemini for Pixel watch, which according to the video might have some use for those that subscribe to YouTube music. The video also highlights that humanity no longer needs to remember anything any more, by presumably integrating Gemini further into our inboxes and WhatsApp chats.
Circle to Search also sees developments with the ability to ask follow-up questions, and will even allow you to search during a specific spot in a game, helping you find tutorials to get you through tricky sections. Although these features only seem to be available in the United States and India for now.
Pixel 9 Pro owners also get a year's free subscription to Gemini AI Pro, which also gives owners access to Veo 3, the AI video generation tool that lets you generate short videos based on text prompts. Given that Pixel 9 series owners already had a free 12 months subscription to Gemini Advanced, this is likely Google's attempt at ensuring users dependence on it's AI ecosystem.
The July Pixel Drop should start rolling out over the coming days. If you aren't already in Google's ecosystem, the original Pixel Watch can be had on Amazon for bargain-basement prices.
