Reviews for the Sony Vaio VPC-Z115GG/BI

90% Sony VAIO Z: Same Look, Brand New Internals
Source: Hardware Zone English
If you like what you've seen so far, we guess you're probably seriously considering getting one. If so, we hope you have a deep wallet, and take a breath, because well, it's a Sony. In fact, moderately priced doesn't even come close when we're talking about this particular configuration we've reviewed. How does S$4499 sound? If that's way too much, fret not as there are other configurations such as the VAIO Z VPCZ115GG/BI which goes for just S$2799.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M: The Nvidia GeForce GT 330M is the successor of the GT 230M and technically just a slightly higher clocked GT 240M (but it should still maintain the power envelope of the GT 230M as the naming suggests).

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

520M:

The Core i5-520M has only 3 MB L3 Cache (compared to the I7-640M) and clocks between 2.4-2.93 GHz (Turbo Mode). Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD 3150) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.

13.3": This is a common display format for subnotebooks. Netbooks, UMPC and some subnotebooks have tinier displays. Nevertheless, the majority of standard laptops has a higher format. The advantage of a small display is, that the subnotebook can be small dimensioned and can be carried easily. Further the small display needs few energy, which improves the battery runtime and in consequence the mobility. The disadvantage is that the reading of texts is a bit exhausting for the eyes, especially with high resolutions.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.

1.4 kg: This subnotebook is one of the most lightweight of all notebooks and can be carried very easily. There exist only few sub-notebooks, which weight less. 10 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
