Konami has been heavily working on numerous Silent Hill projects, reviving the franchise. In a recent leak by insider Dusk Golem, it was revealed that Bloober Team has been working on a Silent Hill 1 Remake for roughly three years, targeting a 2027 release.
The news was shared on July 24, 2025, on X, where Dusk Golem outlined a tentative roadmap for Konami’s upcoming releases. From what we know so far, Silent Hill f will launch on September 25, 2025, followed by Screen Burn’s Silent Hill: Townfall in 2026. The original Silent Hill Remake, spearheaded by Bloober Team, is reportedly scheduled for release in 2027. Moreover, an unannounced internal Silent Hill project is expected to be released in 2028.
However, take this information about later releases with a grain of salt, as Golem stated that the release schedule is “subject to change at the whims of the game devs,” hinting at past delays. This has certainly been the case with Silent Hill f and Silent Hill: Townfall, which swapped release slots.
Bloober Team announced the Silent Hill 1 Remake during a June 2025 livestream, which garnered significant hype. The reveal was quite sparse, featuring just a logo and an eerie snippet of the game’s original intro music. As expected, the game will follow the story of Harry Mason’s search for his daughter Cheryl in the foggy town of Silent Hill.
Fan expectations are at an all-time high due to the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was released in 2024. The game’s reception was overwhelmingly positive, with a Metascore of 87. Silent Hill 2 Remake was praised as a faithful reimagining of the original and has bolstered Bloober Team’s confidence in modernizing the classic PlayStation title while retaining its authentic, eerie atmosphere.
The three-year development timeline indicates the game’s development started around 2022, and increasing confidence in a 2027 launch. This is because most Unreal Engine 5 projects typically span a five-year cycle.
Additionally, Bloober Team is concurrently working on a new standalone Dead Space-esque third-person shooter, Cronos: The New Dawn, slated for release sometime later in 2025.
