Samsung Series 5 Ultra Touch Ultrabook goes on sale for $810 and up

Teaser
The portable computer comes with a Core i3 or Core i5 CPU, hybrid storage and a 10-point touchscreen panel

Remember the Series 5 Convertible (a.k.a "Flip-and-Fold") laptop that Samsung demoed back in June 2012 as part of the Computex trade show in Taipei? It seems the South Korean manufacturer has now decided to add another Ultrabook, called Ultra Touch, to the Series 5 line-up; however this one does not offer the same “foldable” design. The company also claims its new lightweight notebook will soon (presumably by the end of October 2012) hit the store shelves and will have a starting price of $809.99 (about £502).

The base configuration of the Ultra Touch Ultrabook includes an Intel Core i3 central processing unit, but users can opt for a speedier version with an Intel Core i5 chip in exchange for an additional payment of 50 US-dollars. Furthermore, both devices sport a 13.3-inch capacitive multitouch-enabled (10 points) display with a maximum supported resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels.

Under the hood, the laptops feature 4GB of RAM, a mechanical hard drive with a storage capacity of 500GB and 24GB of ExpressCache (solid-state cache). Reportedly, both models run on a Windows 8 operating system and weigh 3.83lbs (1.74kg) each.
