Teaser
The new XPS laptops will come with refreshed design cues and a whole lot of performance

Dell decides to call back the stylish XPS series, with even more firepower than before! The refreshed line-up of the Dell Studio XPS series of laptops is yet to arrive on stores, but we now have in hand the supposed specs of the still to-be-launched laptops. Logicbuy is the first one to have put up pages for the laptops and has also labeled them to be “coming soon”.

The new XPS series will come in three models-the 14, 15 and 17-inch ones with 720p WLED displays standard all across the range. Other highlights of the upcoming laptops include an anodized aluminum display back, brushed aluminum palmrest, and diamond cut trim around the keyboard and touchpad. The models can have over 200 exclusive designs to choose from.

Talking of the powerhouse, Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs will handle processing duties on the various models along with a HM57 chipset. In addition to this, the XPS 14 and XPS 15 models will come bundled with NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M GPUs with Optimus technology and will come in options of 1GB or 2GB. You can have an option to scale down the card with the GeForce 400M or go premium with the GeForce 435M – depending on your budget.

Other standard features include a Skype-certified 720p webcam, JBL designed speakers with Waves MaxxAudio, integrated TV Tuner and an optional backlit keyboard. Power back-up is courtesy a 9-cell battery and all models are packed in with DDR3 memory that is upgradable up to 16GB. The only downer here is that only the XPS 15 and XPS 17 are the ones getting USB 3.0 ports.

Dell Germany has a few 15-inch models on offer, with prices starting at 599 Euros ($839) for an Intel Core i3-370M processor, and then climb up to 849 Euros ($1189) for an Intel Core i7 740QM high processor. Although no details on pricing and availability are out yet for the United States, one can surely expect a very competitive price considering Dell’s aggressive strategies. And as is with Dell XPS laptops, supreme quality and performance can surely be expected.
