Supports 5G and delivers long battery life: The Oppo A73 5G
Not only is the Oppo A73 5G a 5G smartphone for under 300 Euros (~$368), but it also scores points with a very long battery life.

With the introduction of 5G, the new mobile standard is also entering the lower price ranges. This sometimes requires new SoCs that don't drive the smartphone price up despite the integrated 5G modem. The Oppo A73 5G features such a brand-new SoC with the MediaTek Dimensity 720. It's aimed at smartphones in the lower mid-range and offers sufficient performance for everyday tasks.

Our test results show that the MediaTek Dimensity 720 has a similar performance to the OnePlus Nord N10 5G with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 690 5G. The rest of the A73 5G's equipment is also very similar to the aforementioned competitor. The display is similar in size at 6.5-inches and is also suitable for sensitive eyes thanks to the flicker-free IPS panel. A refresh rate of 90 Hz is available too.

However, the battery life of the A73 5G is particularly strong. The low energy requirement of the MediaTek SoC is noticeable here, which contributes to a runtime of almost 24 hours in our practical WLAN test, where the high refresh rate was also active. Thanks to fast-charging technology, the battery is fully recharged after about two hours. Wireless charging is not supported, though.

The Oppo A73 5G is very well suited for everyday use. Both the system and camera performance are good for the price. This makes the inexpensive 5G smartphone definitely worth a closer look, even if the competition aside from the OnePlus Nord N10 5G performs a bit better. We have detailed the differences in our review of the Oppo A73 5G.
