First units of the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship this Thursday. NintendoSoup has already discovered the official safety booklet, which contains some interesting details. Most notably, the handheld console ships with a factory-installed screen protector that should not be removed. Specifically, this film is designed to prevent glass pieces from coming loose if the screen glass breaks.
Since such protectors are made of plastic and usually not very scratch-resistant, it's still recommended to use an additional screen protector. The manual also states that the console's battery and the Joy-Con 2 should be charged at least once every six months, failing to do so will shorten the battery's lifespan. According to Nintendo, the console should only be used in temperatures between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch 2 is not suitable for environments with extremely high humidity or lots of dust or smoke.
If dust blocks the console's or docking station's vents, users are advised to remove it with a vacuum cleaner. The console's chassis should be cleaned with a damp cloth without cleaning solutions. Moreover, Nintendo recommends using a mouse pad for the Joy-Con 2's mouse mode in order to prevent scratching the surface of the table. Last but not least, the manual includes the familiar advice to use the wrist straps of the Joy-Con 2, and to be aware of your surroundings when gaming on the go.
