Farm Together 2, the follow-up to Milkstone Studios' chill farming sim, has officially exited early access and is now available on Steam for $23.39 with a 10% launch discount through June 6. First released in May 2024 as an early access title, the sequel was supposed to refine and build upon the features of the original 2018 game - which earned a solid fanbase for its low-stress, cooperative gameplay loop.
Over the past year, the developers gradually rolled out updates adding features like terraforming, town building, improved automation with the tractor system, and better farm customization. A major new addition is the customizable "Town" area, which acts as a hub for managing multiple farms, quests, and seasonal events. Players also have more control over the layout of their farms thanks to terraforming and decoration tools.
The Steam page currently lists Farm Together 2 as "Very Positive," with over 3,100 user reviews. Most praise the game’s relaxing pace, the satisfaction of long-term farm growth, and the visual polish - though not all feedback is glowing. Some returning players feel the sequel has scaled back in areas like NPC interaction and animal behavior, calling it less "alive" than the original despite its quality-of-life upgrades. Others miss the random events that kept the first game feeling dynamic.
Milkstone Studios has responded to community input and confirmed that development will keep going on, with free content updates and seasonal expansions on the roadmap. Console ports are also in the works, with versions for PlayStation 5 (curr. $499 on Amazon), Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch expected by the end of 2025.
Farm Together 2 supports both solo and multiplayer co-op gameplay and should be great for players looking for a calming, progression-based sim without time pressures or heavy mechanics. You can check it out here.
