Reviews for the Medion Mini E1210
Source: Techradar Archive.org version
Medion's Akoya Mini E1210 is a quintessentially good value netbook. Many manufacturers have taken MSI's Wind netbook and rebadged it under a range of names. The latest manufacturer to take this route is Medion, with its affordably priced Akoya Mini E1210. Although the Medion Akoya Mini E1210 is bettered by many other netbooks on the market, its low price, great storage and useful software still make it a compelling choice.

Plenty to like, but a bigger battery is a must. Medion’s Akoya E1210 is a rebadged MSI Wind.
Medion’s E1210 really suffers from the small standard batteryvon 5: 4, Ausstattung 3, Leistung 3, Display gut, Mobilität schlecht

If you are looking for a netbook then it is difficult to avoid those based on the MSI Wind and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. In terms of value for money, you certainly get a lot. The screen and keyboard are the real differentiators here as many of the tech specs are very close to competitor models. However, you can’t help feel that Medion have let the side down with omission of Bluetooth, which is now such a common feature of notebooks and something that mobile workers want and need. Yes, you can add a dongle, but why would you when it is integrated in so many other versions of this computer? Medion list the E1210 as £299.99 on their website which compares to a price of £279.99 in Aldi.

Medion's Akoya E1210, on sale exclusively through Aldi stores from today, might look familiar to those who've been following the mini-notebook 'scene' since Asus's Eee PCs arrived at the end of last year. An impressive travel computer than could benefit from a battery upgrade

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 is an integrated (onboard) graphic chip on Mobile Intel 945GM chipset. It is a faster clocked version of the GMA 900 and supports no hardware T&L (Transform & Lightning) accelleration (which is required for some games).
These graphics cards are not suited for Windows 3D games. Office and Internet surfing however is possible.

Intel Atom: The Intel Atom series is a 64-Bit (not every model supports 64bit) microprocessor for cheap and small notebooks (so called netbooks), MIDs, or UMPCs. The speciality of the new architecture is the "in order" execution (instead of the usual and faster "out of order" execution). Therefore, the transistor count of the Atom series is much lower and, thus, cheaper to produce. Furthermore, the power consumption is very low. The performance per Megahertz is therfore worse than the old Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz on par with a 1.6 GHz Atom).
Z530:
Power saving version of the Atom N270 with additional Virtualization Support and more power saving techniques. The performance is equal to the N270 and therefore only suited for basic tasks.

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.

The main products are computers, TVs, refrigerators, toasters, and fitness equipment. The manufacturer of laptops Medion mainly is active in the German market, but to smaller extent also in Western Europe. Market shares and amount of reviews are low. Above all, supermarkets like Aldi sell their laptops. In 2011, Medion has been acquired by the laptop manufacturer Lenovo.
77.95%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
