Leaked screenshot shows 16GB Motorola Xoom for Verizon

Teaser
Motorola may make available a 16GB Xoom model for Verizon customers in the U.S.

A new Motorola Xoom model could be coming soon for Verizon customers, according to a new rumor from DroidLife.

The leaked screenshot provided below clearly shows a 16GB Xoom anticipated for the cellular carrier Verizon in the U.S. The new version is expected to be identical to the current 32GB model in terms of software and hardware features, including 4G LTE compatibility. Hopefully the new model would come 4G hardware pre-installed, so customers would not need to go through the hassle of returning the device for the 4G upgrade.

The 16GB model could be Motorola’s direct response to the low sales of the Xoom. Halving the initial 32GB of space could allow the company to sell the tablet for $100 less. In fact, while the 32GB Wi-Fi model currently sells $600, a possible $500 16GB Xoom could make the tablet much more appealing. Such a price point would pit the Xoom directly against the similarly priced 16GB Apple iPad 2.
