Intel Raptor Lake release date leaks: The Core i9-13900K, the Core i7-13700K, and the Core i5-13600K announcement to coincide with the AMD Zen 4 sale
AMD announced the Ryzen 7000 series of CPUs a few days back. The processors, which include the Ryzen 9 7950X, the Ryzen 9 7900X, the Ryzen 7 7700X, and the Ryzen 7 7600X, are set to offer incredible performance boosts over their predecessors and will go on sale on September 27. As it turns out, Intel is reportedly hoping to stall AMD’s momentum by announcing its 13th gen “Raptor Lake” chips on the same day at the Intel Innovation Event.
According to an Intel Raptor Lake Go to Market (GTM) roadmap leaked by @wnxod, Intel will announce the Raptor Lake Core i9-13900K, the Core i7-13700K, and the Core i5-13600K processors on September 27 (September 28 for Taiwan). Interestingly, Intel will allegedly open preorders for the Core i9-13900K on the same day while the preorders for the Core i7-13700K and the Core i5-13600K will go live on October 13. All three SKUs will be on store shelves on October 20.
The purported release date of the Raptor Lake chips will put Intel’s processors almost a month behind AMD. Based on the recent Geekbench benchmark leaks, the Raptor Lake vs Zen 4 battle looks fierce. So, it’ll be wise to hold off on buying the AMD Zen 4 processors until we know how they stack up against Intel’s 13th gen chips.
