Insane RTX 4090 pre-order price emerges: A Vietnamese retailer is allegedly charging more than US$2,000 for the RTX 4090
Nvidia is set to hold a special “GeForce Beyond” broadcast on September 20 at GTC. It is expected that the company will unveil the next-generation Lovelace architecture alongside some possible RTX 40 series announcements at the event. Yesterday, we reported that the RTX 4090 is supposedly coming out a month after the GTC announcement in October followed by the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4070 in November. We now have some information regarding the possible pricing of the RTX 4090 courtesy of @I_Leak_VN.
Per the leaker, AZPC, a Vietnamese retailer, is currently accepting pre-orders for the RTX 40 series flagship at an absurd price. The retailer is reportedly charging an equivalent of US$2,100 for the base RTX 4090 and US$2,520 for a “Premium version”. The retailer also explained that the performance of the board is currently unknown, and the stock of the GPUs is limited.
It is pertinent to mention that the retailer has previously charged the same amount for the RTX 3090 pre-orders according to @I_Leak_VN. But, as we now know, the MSRP of the RTX 3090 is much lower than US$2,100. In other words, we don’t expect these pre-order prices to be reflective of the official MSRP and the final price of the RTX 4090 will likely be much closer to its predecessor.
The RTX 4090 is rumored to pack up to 16,384 CUDA cores, 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, and up to 600 W TDP. The board is reportedly close to twice as fast as the RTX 3090. That said, these numbers aren’t official, so we won’t be surprised if the final configuration is different with a different performance profile.
AZPC workstation store has RTX 4090 pre-order price. I think this is the most realistic price because Vietnam also had this price when the new RTX 3090 was released.
