Huawei has officially launched the Watch Ultimate 2, a premium smartwatch with a host of features for professional divers and outdoor explorers. The new model introduces sonar-based underwater communication, which is a first for the company's smartwatches.
The Watch Ultimate 2 is built from a zirconium-based metal alloy and rated for water resistance up to 150 meters (IP69). Divers can send text or emoji messages to nearby watches within 30 meters, while an underwater SOS feature reaches up to 60 meters. Huawei says the sonar system contributes towards both safety and collaboration during deep-sea activities.
Connectivity and positioning have been upgraded as well. The watch uses a new Gap Antenna system for stronger signals in outdoor environments, supported by the Sunflower positioning system with dual-band, five-satellite coverage. It also supports eSIM voice calls, Bluetooth 5.4, and AI-based noise suppression for clearer communication.
The Watch Ultimate 2 will be available in black and blue finishes, combining a two-tone nanoceramic bezel with sapphire glass. It runs Huawei’s latest TruSense health monitoring system with the company’s X-TAP technology, which can track 11 core health indicators. These include continuous heart rate and SpO₂ monitoring, sleep analysis, and other wellness metrics accessible through the Health Glance interface.
Battery life is rated for up to 11 days in power-saving mode and 4.5 days under normal use, thanks to an 867 mAh battery. Safety tools such as fall detection, emergency SOS, and altitude tracking have also been added for outdoor use.
The Watch Ultimate 2 is available starting October 9, 2025, through Huawei’s online store, the Berlin flagship location, and major retail partners. Prices start at €899 (~$1,043), and early buyers until November 4 will receive FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds and a three-year warranty extension at no extra cost.
