Huawei Watch GT 4: Successor to Watch GT 3 series on the horizon
Last year, Huawei announced the Watch GT 3, which arrived a few months after the introduction of the Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro. Subsequently, Huawei released the Watch GT 3 Pro, all with 1.43-inch AMOLED displays if you opt for the 46 mm variants. Based on new rumours circulating in China, Huawei is about to present a new smartwatch that will succeed all three, despite the Watch GT 3 Pro being less than four months old.
According to ITHome, with reference to Weibo leaker The director of the factory is Guan Classmate (machine translated), the Watch GT 4 could hit shelves as early as next month, possibly on September 7. Incidentally, this launch date could coincide with the upcoming Mate 50 series, specifications of which we have discussed separately. While there have been several Mate 50 series-related leaks to date, little is known about the Watch GT 4.
Based on Huawei's past release schedule, the Watch GT 4 will arrive without a Watch GT 4 Pro. In fact, the latter may not launch until sometime next year. Reputedly, Huawei could wait until October before it releases the Watch GT 4, after Apple introduces the Watch Series 8. Regardless, the Watch GT 4 should ship with HarmonyOS 3, the latest version of Huawei's in-house operating system presented last month alongside a new Watch 3 Pro.
