Huawei Enjoy 7S set for December 18 launch, details revealed
While Honor is set to announce the launch of the presumed Honor 9 Lite on December 21, Huawei also has a similar device on the cards. The Huawei Enjoy 7S is the next device in Huawei's China-centric mid-range series, and the device is billed for a December 18 launch at an event in Xi An, China.
The Enjoy 7S will continue Huawei's new trend of releasing devices with the Kirin 659, an SoC that bears an uncanny resemblance to the incredibly popular Snapdragon 625. It's a shame this chipset comes a bit late to the scene, as the 625 looks to be on its way out, with newer improvements like the Snapdragon 630 set to take its place.
The Huawei Enjoy 7S takes a path away from the slew of 5.9-inch devices released by Huawei of recent, with the mid-ranger sporting a smaller 5.65-inch 18:9 display—much like the upcoming Honor 9 Lite, in fact. Both devices seem to share similar features: display size and resolution, RAM (3/32 GB, 4/64 GB), storage, and dual rear camera setup. The Honor 9 Lite is expected to come equipped with quad cameras, though, while the Enjoy 7S ships with a regular single selfie shooter. Both are also said to feature 2900 mAh batteries (although some sources claim the Enjoy 7S will house a 3000 mAh unit). Both devices will also run on EMUI 8.0 out of the box.
The Enjoy series is usually specific to the Chinese market, so there's a chance other markets get the 7S in another form. The Honor 9 Lite, maybe?
The base version is expected to come with a price tag in the region of US$240.
