When it comes to selecting a mini PC from the trove of options we have nowadays, durability hardly makes it to the top five factors. However, this doesn't appear to bother Geekom, who seemingly left no stone unturned in bragging about its IT15 mini PC's durability.
The Geekom IT15 is a premium mini PC that recently went on sale, boasting up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor paired with up to 64 GB of RAM, along with a plethora of ports. While its performance will likely not fail to impress, Geekom wants to emphasize that the system is also built to last.
Torture testing the IT15: What it survived
In a video shared on Twitter (now X), Geekom portrays the IT15 mini PC going through a slew of brutal torture tests - getting dragged by a bike, smashed with a bat and a hammer, driven over by a 1.8 ton car, as well as extreme heat and cold tests.
Perhaps the most real-world scenario among those tested was having the IT15 mini PC (curr. $999 on Amazon) dropped from a flight of stairs, which it survives pretty well. The compact nature of the mini PC will almost certainly be taken advantage of by commuters and students, and dropping it by mistake is a perfectly plausible scenario.
Of course, Geekom had one last test to run - throwing the machine in washing machine, without water, of course. Once the last test was over, the mini PC was plugged in, and shown to work perfectly without any hiccups.
Geekom states that the IT15 boasts an all-metal frame and base, along with durable ABS+PC material for the upper and outer covers. Mini PCs are by nature densely packed systems, which sure does help with overall structural integrity. Clearly, folks who care about physical durability will likely be quite pleased with the IT15 mini PC.
