Galaxy Tab 5.0 and 4.0 pre-orders started

The Latest Media Player cum Tabs from Samsung called Galaxy 5.0 and 4.0 are up for pre-orders

The Samsung Galaxy 5.0 and 4.0 Android mini-tablets are up for pre orders and are expected to start shipping by 16th of October. Though these models are in the size of most smartphones they can be categorized as tablets as they don’t have any phone functionality.

The Galaxy 5.0 and 4.0 are 5inches and 4inches in size and the official name for these modes are YP-G70CWY/XAA and YP-G1CWY/XAA respectively. They are featuring multi-touch display with 800 x 480pixels of resolution. But as they are advertised as media players they support 720p video recording and playback.

These models are powered by Android 2.2, and are provided with a 1GHz S5P-C111 processor. For storage they have 8GB of internal memory and also a micro SD card slot. For connectivity, these devices are equipped with built in 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Some other specifications mentioned for these devices include GPS, 3.5mm ear jack and stereo speakers. Two cameras are also added one is a VGA front facing camera while the other is a 3.2megapixel camera with a built in flash on its back.

Both these Tabs weigh about 0.4 and 0.27 pounds respectively. Although the size of the models varies but the main difference between these two models is the capacity of the battery. The 5inch model run on a 2500mAh and is expected to provide eight hours of video playback runtime, while the 4inch model runs on 1200mAh battery delivering a five hour video run time.

As they are mentioned as media players they are also provided with an FM radio receiver, which cannot be found on other tablets. According to Samsung these players will support access to Samsung’s Media Hub service in the future after a software update.

These devices are currently up for order at Amazon and the Samsung Galaxy 5.0 is priced at $270 and the Galaxy 4.0 is priced $230.
