Dark Knight-inspired Mahindra Batman BE 6 EV revealed by the Indian carmaker
Mahindra is producing a limited run of a customized version of its BE 6 Electric Origin SUV, inspired by Batman. The Indian automaker will celebrate crime-busting cinematic heritage with only 300 units.
The Batman EV, officially known as the BE 6 Batman Edition, was co-developed with Warner Bros. It stands out from other Mahindra vehicles with unique Dark Knight logos and branding plastered both inside and outside.
Perhaps the biggest giveaway is the image of Batman slapped on the two front doors. However, if this is not convincing enough, Mahindra opted for Bat logo center caps on the 20-inch R20 alloy wheels.
Other Dark Knight-themed features on the exterior include a “BE 6 x The Dark Knight” styling on the rear, custom Satin Black Color, and an Infinity Roof emblazoned with the Bat emblem. The wing mirrors even project the iconic Bat Signal on the ground.
Inside, the Batman EV features a brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition plaque and an instrument panel covered with charcoal-colored leather with gold trimming. Mahindra also embosses the Bat logo on the “Boost” button (providing a 10-second extra burst of power), seats, dashboard panels, etc. The audio experience is complete with Batman-inspired engine sounds.
The Batman EV is based on the highest trim level of the BE 6 SUV. It features a 79 kWh battery, which promises a driving range of 340 miles according to WLTP standards. The powertrain consists of a single 282 hp/280 lb-ft electric motor that powers the rear wheels.
The Batman EV starts from about $27,500. Mahindra will open the order books on August 23 and commence deliveries on International Batman Day, September 20.
