Barnes & Noble cuts Nook Color and Nook Tablet prices

Teaser
Nook Color and Nook Tablet prices drop to $139 and $159 respectively

Competition in the e-reader and 7" tablet market is as strong as it's ever been, and it's only set to get worse with Apple entering the ring and Google updating their lineup. Of course, Barnes and Noble has had their own devices for quite some time and they're now cutting prices across the board in order to make some noise.

Starting today, the popular book reseller has reduced the price of the Nook Color e-reader and the Nook Tablet by $10 and $20, respectively. Subsequently, the Nook Color is now priced at $139, while the 8GB Nook Tablet will sell for $159 with the 16GB model going for $179.

The price cut comes days ahead of the release of the 7" Nook HD and 9" HD+, which are currently available for pre-order. Both tablets feature high-resolution IPS displays, with a 1440x900 resolution on the Nook HD and a 1920x1280 resolution on the HD+. The tablets start at $199 and $269 and will ship to customers on the 8th of November.
