Asus makes Eee Pad Tarnsformer code available

Teaser
It is understandable as the tablet uses open source technology

Asus has reportedly released the Android 3.0 aka Honeycomb kernel source code of its upcoming Eee Pad Transformer to developers – says Liliputing. This move might come as a surprise to some as Google itself has not made the code public yet. Note that Asus has not made the source code of the entire OS available, rather just of the Linux kernel. Nonetheless, this will let the independent developers customize Android for the Transformer as well as of other tablets to their taste.

The Transformer is one of the newer tablets running a dual-core Tegra 2 (clock speed of 1.2GHz) processor and Android 3.0. The 10.1” LED Backlight WXGA (1280x800) Screen supports 10-finger multi-touch support. The internal memory of 1GB and the up to 32GB storage is coupled with Asus’ unlimited web storage.

If you are an Android developer, download the source code here.
