The 10.1-inch Asus will be one the first notebooks powered by the Intel Cedar Trail Atom platform

The 10.1-inch Asus Eee PC 1025 has made it to the FCC in two models, 1025C and 1025CE. The notebooks are noted for its inclusion of Intel’s Cedar Trail processors, otherwise known as the third generation of Atom chips.

Both models will reportedly include HDMI-out and a flush trackpad, while the higher-end 1025CE model could have USB 3.0, webcam with zoom functions and a metallic finish. The 1025C and 1025CE could be shipping with dual-core Atom N2600 and N2800 processors, respectively, with 2GB RAM and an SD card reader.

Exactly when the notebooks will arrive is unknown, but sources say the Eee PC 1025 will retail for only $249 or $279, depending on model. It will be interesting to see real-world battery lives and performances of the new models, especially when considering that they will be carrying Intel’s first 32nm Atom processors.
