Apple Pencil 2 gets the look of an HB pencil thanks to ColorWare makeover
At first glance, the ColorWare Apple Number 2 Pencil looks like a conventional HB pencil with its yellow casing, silver "metal cap" and "eraser" at the rear end. The tip is colored black, and ColorWare has not even forgotten the zigzag pattern that usually results after sharpening.
Technically, this is a conventional Apple Pencil 2. This means that the stylus is compatible with the 11-inch iPad Pro, the 12.9-inch third-generation iPad Pro, the fourth-generation iPad Air, the sixth-generation iPad mini and all newer models. The Apple Pencil 2 supports the hover functionality of the latest iPad Pro, recognizes pressure and tilt, and can be charged by magnetically attaching the stylus to the frame of a compatible iPad.
ColorWare emphasizes that the Apple Number 2 Pencil is a limited edition product that is only available for a short time. Depending on the section, the surface has a matte, glossy or even textured finish. The manufacturer warns against inserting the pencil into a sharpener, as such damage is not covered by the one-year ColorWare warranty.
Price and availability
The ColorWare Apple Number 2 Pencil is expected to be available from mid-March. The stylus can be preordered immediately via the manufacturer's website for $215. ColorWare also ships to Europe, but buyers should take into account shipping costs of around EUR 60 and possible import fees.
