Amico Entertainment, formerly Intellivision Entertainment, has announced several new games and software.
The company was formed to continue the legacy of the world's first 16-bit game console, the Intellivision released in 1979, with the Amico game console. However, that console has been delayed due to the covid pandemic and other reasons, so the company has pivoted to releasing gaming software for other platforms.
Amico Home is an app that turns phones, tablets, and streaming TV devices into game consoles that can play Amico game titles. The company has added Apple TV 4K compatibility to the app, allowing owners to play the company's family-friendly game titles. For Nintendo Switch and Steam users, a collaboration with Happy Home Games will bring the entire slate of adapted Amico games to these platforms.
Two new game titles will debut alongside the Amico Home Apple TV 4K app. Evel Knievel allows players to tackle obstacles while jumping their motorcycles like the legendary daredevil. Finnigan Fox challenges players to defeat enemies of the forest with a crossbow and magic. A third game, Cornhole, allows gamers to play this popular tossing game indoors and will debut soon.
Amico challenges the game industry by focusing on making family-friendly game titles that users of all ages can play together.
