Far Cry could soon be adapted into a TV series by FX according to a recently published, then deleted, article on Ubisoft. But users have revealed details on Reddit that may delight fans of the license.

Everyone knows the Far Cry franchise, which has captivated millions of players around the world. But few people know that a new series could be in the works. However, a recent article published on Ubisoft highlighted this fact before being subsequently removed. And needless to say, when such information appears on the Internet, it is not forgotten.

Far Cry has been one of Ubisoft's biggest licenses since the early 2000s, when the first game was released, plunging you into a world full of Trigens. Since then, several games have been released, including the latest, Far Cry 6, which was unveiled to the public in 2021. But since then, no new game has appeared on various consoles, leaving fans of the license with an unbearable wait. And needless to say, there's very little information about the next opus of the license

However, Ubisoft seems to have other ideas in mind for Far Cry. And this could well be the case with a series. Indeed, an article was recently published in Ubisoft's news section, before being deleted shortly afterwards. But the internet never forgets, and users have managed to gather information and reveal it on Reddit.

And this is what we have now learned:

"Mac (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest, Welcome to Wrexham) and Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) are the co-creators of the Far Cry series. Hawley will also be the showrunner, while Mac is set to star in the series. The series will be produced by Mac, Hawley, and Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, Michael Garcia for 26Keys Productions, Nick Frenkel for 3Arts Entertainment, and Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television. This collaboration is truly a gold mine. Far Cry is a psychological descent that doesn't shy away from exploring the darkest and most absurd aspects of humanity, which fits perfectly with FX's bold and fearless storytelling style, said Margaret Boykin, Head of Film and Television Content at Ubisoft Film & Television."

And to lend further credibility to this news, the slug always states: “far-cry-series-adaptation-in-the-works-at-fx”. However, if a Far Cry series is in preparation, we can wonder if the publication of this article was a real mistake or an extremely well-conducted communication move by Ubisoft. But only time will tell.
