Xbox Live games coming to iOS and Android?

In a recent Microsoft’s job listing, we have a slight indication that they have plans to launch of Xbox Live-based games on rival platforms like iOS and even Android.  It is being assured that they will not be loaded with malware, but instead with straight-up titles that are cross-platform capable across all of the three mobile environments.

There is even a possibility them to include even Windows 8 platform and Xbox 360 console. The WP7/iOS/Android speculation stems from job posting of the software engineers to work in Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business division, especially for Xbox LIVE. 

The Job description reads as the Xbox LIVE Mobile team needs a passionate and experienced developer to join them, to bring Xbox LIVE entertainment experience for various mobile platform users. They also added that the team in Interactive Entertainment Business is dedicated to mobile experience. They work along with the console software team and the Xbox LIVE service team, to bring the latest and greatest gaming and entertainment experience to mobile platform including Windows Phone, iOS and even other mobile platforms. 

The responsibilities of the candidates will include working with the PM and also the test team to define, design and implement Xbox Live mobile experience on Windows Phone, iOS and other platform. They will have to provide technical assessment and feasibility analysis on product requirements, along with that working with Microsoft internal teams to deliver customized Xbox Live experience to mobile devices and investigate and prototype on mobile technologies. 

Last month we saw Microsoft launched My Xbox Live application for Apple’s iOS devices and also released an Xbox Companion application for Windows Phone. Although till now Microsoft has not officially announced about developing games for iOS and Android, but we can really look for something like that in the approaching CES 2012.
