The newest additions to Lenovo's line of "dual-mode laptops" feature AMD processors and graphics

Lenovo is pulling out all the stops at CES this year. Along with an impressive number of other new products, the Chinese company announced two new additions to its line of Flex laptops – the 14D and the 15D.

Both models are very similar and feature an HD display (1366 x 768), an AMD processor up to a quad-core A6-5200M, up to an AMD Radeon HD8570 GPU, up to 8 GB of RAM, up to 500 GB HD or 1 TB hybrid storage, Dolby Advanced Audio v2, a USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a VGA port, a LAN port, a 2-in-1 card reader, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n wifi, an HD webcam, and up to 6 hours of battery life.

The 14D has a 14-inch display and weighs in at 4.4 pounds while the 15D has a 15.6-inch display and weighs 5.07 pounds.

These devices will undoubtedly be closer to the budget-end of Lenovo's product line. Particularly given their high weight and relatively poor battery life. Still, the new Flex models offer better customization options than most, and might turn out to be a bargain for someone in the market for a larger laptop.

Pricing and availability for the new laptops have not yet been announced.
