Apple’s iPad Gamers have reached 8 Million plus and still counting

It seems that Apple’s iPad has become the last resort for the Gamers. According to a survey by Interpret, a cross-media market research firm, Apple’s iPad is drawing the attention of both traditional console gamers as well as non-traditional gamers. The non-traditional gamers mostly use it for developing its own new user base.

The report says there are about 8+ Million gamers in the US itself and this population is increasing explosively both in numbers and proportion of all iPad owners. It is also found that 71 percent of iPad users are involved in gaming.

Out of the 8 million gamers a substantial part of the population is occupied by the traditional gamers but a bigger part is acquired by the non-traditional guys.

Jason Preston, Interpret analyst reported that the gamers are showing slightly less interest in home gaming consoles, mobile phones or on Nintendo hand handled consoles. He also added that iPad gamers has placed iPad as an in home gaming device and iPad game developers and publishers can definitely reach a new audience on the iPad.

Earlier version of iPad was already a good for gaming and the launching of iPad2 carried away everyone with the flow. The iPad2 is perfect for most of the games with intense graphics as it is provided with the A5 chip. The battery life of 10 hours is a great plus point. Well for now we can only guess what the iPad3 will do to the Gamers, which is to be released by next year.
