Toshiba: Toshiba unveils the brand-new Satellite A665-3D notebook series

The A665 3D family notebooks are high on performance and features while remaining reasonably priced

Get set to experience visual delight via a 3D platform on your very own notebook, made possible by Toshiba. The brand’s new line of netbook series is capable of supporting 3D movies and much more.

Called the A665 3D family, these line of notebooks allow for all versions of the machine to support premium quality 3D content with NVIDIA 3D Vision technology, aided by active glasses. The 6-cell battery, expandable to a massive 12-cell one, promises to deliver uninterrupted power.

Bundled with 6GB of RAM and a 640GB HDD, the A665 3D family is powered by an Intel Core i5-460M or a Core i7-740QM depending upon the model. Graphic duties are handled by a GeForce GTS 350M card which comes with NVIDIA 3D vision technology. A screen size of 15.6-inches proves to be wide enough to experience high quality 3D output with ease and supports HD resolution and LED backlighting at a refresh rate of 120Hz, thus adding to the experience.

Connectivity is ensured by Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with the choice of a WiMax module. The machine also has a HDMI 1.4 port for sending content to a larger screen. The device scores on the audio front as well with a harman/kardon stereo sound system and an integrated Blu-ray player to enhance its feature set.

The A665 3D series by Toshiba will ship by October this year according to reports. It is priced at $1299.99, not much for a movie aficionado for whom there’s nothing in the world better than a 3D world with a bowl of popcorn!
