Samsung reveals its low priced Linux based Netbook

Low price has always been a great attraction for all of us. And when great technology comes at a very low expense then who can stop himself from giving it a shot? Well Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd has even laid their steps already in the world of low cost models. Yes the Samsung N100 is a low cost netbook powered by MeeGo Linux. This model may cost only around $275, but the N100 is real value for money with which Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd can really get a good number of happy customers.

As in case of all the other Netbooks or mini-laptops it has got a small and brilliant 10.1 inch LED display and that with a matt surface providing the customers with an antireflection display of high quality. The display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Samsung N100 is built with a 1.33 GHz Intel Atom N435 processor an Intel GMA 3150 giving a good experience to the users. With the N100 Samsung has provided the users with all the usual connecting interfaces like 2 x USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Other regular ports are 4-in-1 (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC), RJ45 (LAN), DC-In (Power Port) are also provided by the manufacturers. 

According to its small size and slick model the weight is also very low, which is an about 2.2 pounds (about a kilo). A memory of 1 GB DDR3 is also provided in the model which is more than enough in a netbook as compared to the applications netbooks are mainly meant for. And an HDD of 250 GB (5400 rpm) is provided with it for storage purpose.

MeeGo is a Linux based operating system is mainly used for powering of the netbook. It is a very easy access operating system for both online and offline contents and if you are into social networking then it may land as one of your favourite user interfaces. If you still want to go with other operating systems with which you might be more accustomed with then a free DOS version is also available as a factory option. Even a Genuine Windows 7 operating platform is also available as option for all those Windows lovers out there.

Samsung has provided a 3 cell battery (40 watts), and as the model is built with an Intel Atom processor which is energy efficient and is expected to give a better battery life.
