MagyarT-Mobile outs the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in US
Even though a few days left for the court hearing, T-Mobile USA has unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for their customers this Monday. Apple seeks a preliminary injunction prohibiting Samsung Electronics and its US entities from selling, offer to sell or importing some of Samsung’s products into the US including the Galaxy S 4G and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet computer, with a claim that these products infringed its patents.
The exact date of release and the price of the Galaxy tab is yet to be released by T-Mobile along with a 7inch T-Mobile Springboard with Google, but they said they will make them available in time for the holidays at T-Mobile retail stores and also through its web store.
On September 28, T-Mobile has asked the court for leave to submit a brief of amicus curiae to prevent the injunction which would affect its holiday sales this year, as the court hearing is scheduled for October 13 at the US district court of the Northern District of California, San Jose Division.
Earlier, T-Mobile submitted to the court that the timing of an injunction on the Samsung products like the Galaxy S 4G Smartphone and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablets will harm them with their holiday sales along with thousands of US consumers.
On September 30, District Judge Lucy H. Koh granted T-Mobile leave to submit a brief of amicus curiae, although disallowed it from presenting an oral argument on the same, at the October 13th hearing.
Verizon Wireless has also asked the court to leave to submit a brief of amicus curiae before the court, as an injunction would hinder Verizon Wireless in developing as well as deploying their next generation high speed-LTE network. Their request to submit a brief was also granted.
The SpringBoard with Google the other device unveiled by T-Mobile on Monday is manufactured by Huawei Technologies. It is powered by Android 3.2 platform and by a 1.2 GHz dual core mobile processor. The 7inch multi-touch screen provides an HD display. A lot of entertainment applications are also included which includes access to a thousand of movies and TV shows.
