Samsung to adopt store-within-a-store model at Best Buy

Teaser
1,400 Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores will soon be incorporating Samsung Experience Shops.

Samsung will begin installing over 1,400 'Samsung Experience Shops' this month within select Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile locations. The South Korean electronics giant expects to have 900 specialty stores ready by early May while the rest should be opening at some point in the early summer.

Samsung Experience Shops will be focusing on the company's mobile range of products including notebooks, tablets, smartphones and even Android digital cameras. Though customers will be able to interact with each product individually, Samsung appears to be particularly eager to showcase how its devices interact amongst themselves. The company wishes to highlight ways in which products share music, pictures, or videos and how consumers can use their smartphones or tablets as a TV remote control.

Select Best Buy stores will also be staffed with Samsung Experience Consultants providing what the company likes to call Samsung Smart Service. The consultants' duties shall include assisting customers in their selection and activation of mobile products as well as offering support throughout its lifecycle. According to Samsung, its consultants will be responsible for "product demonstrations, basic product services, Samsung account set up, warranty registration and post purchase support".
