Samsung could be out with a Cedar Trail netbook soon

Teaser
The first Netbook based on Cedar Trail platform to land on the market with Samsung for about $307

The UK tech reseller Ballicom along with seven other UK retailers has listed the first Samsung Netbook to be based on the Cedar Trail platform. The Samsung N102S is currently out of stock and is set to go on sale soon at $307 with an addition of extra VAT.

It is likely to have an Atom N2100 processor which will have a Cedar View-M core, and will make it significantly more powerful than the current Atom range. This model will also include a 10.1inch screen with a 1280 X 800 pixels of resolution and will be powered by Microsoft’s Windows 7 Starter.

Other specifications include 1GB RAM (shared memory), a 320 GB hard disk drive for providing storage, webcam and Bluetooth. A 3-cell battery will run this device.

Recently Samsung was also rumored to be exiting the Netbook market according to some news which was said on behalf of an email sent by the Korean Electronics giant to a number of retail partners. This rumor claims that this decision arrived from them for the lucrative Ultrabook market. They might believe that the netbooks in the future will not be able to face the Ultrabook in the market as they have only one factor where netbooks can attract the consumers - low price.
