Portégé Z830 Ultrabook to arrive in Q4

Teaser
Toshiba display a pre-production model of the Portégé Z830 at IFA Berlin, but now the company has announced a Q4 availability for its 1.12KG heavy Ultrabook.

Introduced back at IFA Berlin earlier this month, only a pre-production model of Toshiba’s Protégé Z830 and its matte 13.3” display (1366x768) was on hand. However, Toshiba is now officially announcing that the Ultrabook will be coming to Europe in the 4th Quarter of this year, the pricing is still ominously missing.

Thanks to a housing of magnesium alloy with a honeycomb structure, Toshiba’s Ultrabook weighs in at 1.12KG (~2.5lbs) and has a width of just 16 millimeters to go along with an unspecified Sandy Bridge Core i-CPU and up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM.

In addition, Toshiba has forgone the traditional HDD found in most of their Protégés, as the Z830 comes with a 128GB SSD that offers faster read/write speeds and contributes to the machine’s low weight. Other features include a backlit Chiclet keyboard, integrated 1.3MP webcam, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Gigabit LAN, 1xUSB 3.0, 2xUSB 2.0, VGA, HDMI, and a fingerprint reader which pairs up with high-speed UMTS and support for Intel Wireless Display.
