Based in Hong Kong, Nuu Mobile specializes in affordable Android smartphones and tablets ranging from the A series to the rugged R1 series. Prices can start for as low as $60 USD with more accessible support and return policies than most other off-brand Chinese devices.

The latest model from the company will be the upcoming 5.71-inch Nuu X6 for just $99 USD. While this isn't the first time that a sub $100 Android smartphone will be made available, the X6 is particularly notable for its high-end specifications relative to the asking price. Users can expect a 5.71-inch notched touchscreen, quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, Android 9.0 Pie software, rear 13 MP + VGA dual cameras, 3 GB of RAM, MicroSD reader, and even a removable 2800 mAh battery.

4G LTE will also be "ready to work on most major US carriers" according to the manufacturer. Nonetheless, we recommend checking for band compatibility as many unlocked smartphones from smaller companies can sometimes lack the bands required for local 4G connectivity.

Nuu says they expect to have the X6 be available through Amazon US and their official online store soon.

DALLAS (Jan. 7, 2019) — NUU Mobile, a global manufacturer and supplier of carrier-certified and unlocked Android™ smartphones, unveiled its new X6 phone at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Sporting a capable 3GB of RAM, an extended screen with a 5-megapixel front camera in a water drop-style notch, dual 13-megapixel/VGA sensors on the back, and stock Android Pie, the X6 retails for only $99.

“Our goal with the X6 was to bring a value proposition to the market that would stand out to those in search of a modern, capable, yet uncomplicated smartphone experience, in a market of ever-increasing prices for ever-decreasing increments in performance,” said Tim Clemens, Senior Vice President at NUU Mobile. “It’s not easy, but this has always been our stand in the industry, and our development goals for 2020 will follow this philosophy.”

In addition to the specifications above, the X6 will also bring with it a 2,800 mAh battery, Mediatek’s Helio-class A22 system-on-chip, and a choice of face unlock or fingerprint reading for a balance of convenience and security. Added value comes in the form of a now-uncommon 3.5” audio jack, an SD expansion slot, and a user-removable battery.

“With phones today venturing up into four-figure territory, we’re proud to be offering the X6 at less than a tenth of that,” added Matthew Smith, NUU Mobile’s Marketing Director. “Our new brand positioning, led by the #5to9ers campaign, explores the meaning of this; we recognize that many of us out there are working beyond the norm to be better, have greater needs for what we earn, but still demand satisfaction within reason.

Compatible with GSM, LTE and WCDMA networks, the X6 is unlocked at purchase and ready to work on most major US carriers.
